The Denver Broncos are brushing off trade interest in wide receiver Courtland Sutton, according to general manager George Paton. Sutton is currently in a holdout, but Paton said the team is not worried about him missing any regular season games.
"Courtland is a big part of our plans," Paton said. "He's a young, talented player who we believe can be a difference-maker for us. We're not going to trade him."
Sutton is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is seeking a new deal. He is reportedly looking for a contract that will pay him around $15 million per year, which would make him one of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL.
The Broncos have reportedly offered Sutton a contract worth around $12 million per year, but he has yet to accept. Sutton is reportedly willing to hold out until he gets a contract that he is happy with.
Paton said the team is confident that it will be able to sign Sutton to a new contract before the start of the regular season.
"We're working on a deal with Courtland and we're confident that we'll be able to get something done," Paton said.
