2020 NBA Draft: Full List of Picks

Tyrese Haliburton: A Story of What Could've Been

Tyrese Haliburton, a point guard who played college basketball for the Iowa State Cyclones, was selected by the Sacramento Kings with the 12th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Haliburton was projected to be a first-round pick, and many experts believed he would be selected in the top 10. However, he surprisingly fell to the Kings at No. 12.

A Talented Player with a Bright Future

Haliburton is a 6'5" point guard with great passing, scoring, and defensive skills. He is a versatile player who can play both on and off the ball. Haliburton is also a very good shooter, and he is expected to be a valuable asset to the Kings.

Haliburton joins Duke's Jay Williams (No. 2 pick in the 2000 NBA Draft) and Wake Forest's Chris Paul (No. 4 pick in the 2005 NBA Draft) as the only players from those schools to be selected in the top 12 of the NBA Draft.

A Disappointing Night for the Warriors

The Golden State Warriors had a disappointing night in the 2020 NBA Draft. They traded their No. 2 overall pick to the Memphis Grizzlies for a future first-round pick and took James Wiseman from Memphis with the No. 2 overall pick. Wiseman is a talented center, but many experts believe that Haliburton would have been a better fit for the Warriors.

The Warriors also traded their No. 14 overall pick to the Boston Celtics for a future first-round pick. They ended up drafting Nico Mannion with the No. 48 overall pick.

Other Notable Picks

Other notable picks in the 2020 NBA Draft include Cole Anthony, who was selected 15th overall by the Orlando Magic, and Patrick Williams, who was selected fourth overall by the Chicago Bulls.
