Arsenal U19s suffer defeat to PSV in UEFA Youth League

Young Gunners lose 2-1 in Netherlands despite Ethan Nwaneri's goal

Arsenal's under-19s team suffered a 2-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday.

The young Gunners went into the game knowing that a win would have sealed their place in the knockout stages of the competition, but they were unable to get the result they needed.

Arsenal took the lead in the 20th minute through Ethan Nwaneri, but PSV equalised just before half-time through Johan Bakayoko.

The Dutch side then took the lead in the 55th minute through Richards Ledezma, and Arsenal were unable to find an equaliser.

The defeat means that Arsenal will now need to win their final group game against Bodø/Glimt on December 7th if they are to qualify for the knockout stages.

Arsenal U19s: Hein, Walters, Monlouis, Rekik, Cirjan, Sousa, Henry-Francis, Cozier-Duberry, Nwaneri, Flores, Jeffcott.

Substitutes: Ibrahim, Butler-Oyedeji, Gower, Sagoe Jr, Nichols.

Conclusion

Arsenal U19s' defeat to PSV Eindhoven was a disappointing result, but the young Gunners can still qualify for the knockout stages of the UEFA Youth League if they can beat Bodø/Glimt in their final group game.

The young Gunners have shown some promising signs this season, and they will be hoping to end the campaign on a high by qualifying for the knockout stages of the UEFA Youth League.
