City and County Officials Urge Drivers to Stay Off the Road

Houston Foot Locker Parking Lot Shooting Leaves Three Injured

HOUSTON - It could take days if not longer to restore power to the areas hit by severe weather in the Houston area. Local news on FOX 26 Houston reported that Grimes County, Liberty County, and Montgomery County are among the hardest-hit areas.

City and county officials are urging drivers to stay off the road as crews work to clear debris and restore power lines. Houston Mayor John Whitmire spoke with FOX 26 from the Emergency Center as they assess the damage.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, at least three people were shot in a drive-by shooting in the parking lot of a Foot Locker store in Katy. Police are investigating the shooting, and no arrests have been made.

Conclusion

The severe weather and shooting incident serve as a stark reminder of the challenges facing the Houston area. As the city continues to grapple with the aftermath of these events, residents are urged to stay informed, follow safety guidelines, and support one another during this difficult time.
