The 2023 NHL Draft: Connor Bedard Headlines a Class of Elite Prospects

The Draft Will Be Held in Nashville on June 28th and 29th

The 2023 NHL draft is set to take place on Wednesday, June 28th and Thursday, June 29th at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The first round of the draft will be held on Wednesday, with rounds two through seven taking place on Thursday. The Chicago Blackhawks won the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery and will have the No. 1 pick in the draft.

Connor Bedard: The Next Connor McDavid?

Connor Bedard is widely considered to be the best prospect to enter the NHL since Connor McDavid, who was selected No. 1 overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2015 NHL Draft. Bedard is a 5-foot-10, 185-pound center who plays for the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He is a dynamic offensive player with excellent skating and puck-handling skills. Bedard is also a very good two-way player, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to play in all situations.

Bedard is expected to be selected No. 1 overall by the Blackhawks, but there are a number of other talented prospects who could be selected in the top 10. Shane Wright, a center from the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL, is another highly-touted prospect. Wright is a big, strong center with excellent playmaking ability. He is also a good skater and has a good shot.

Other top prospects in the draft include Adam Fantilli, a center from the Chicago Steel of the USHL; Matvei Michkov, a winger from SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL; and Brad Lambert, a center from the HIFK Helsinki of the Liiga.

The 2023 NHL draft is expected to be one of the most exciting in recent memory. With a number of talented prospects available, there is sure to be plenty of drama and intrigue on draft day.
