The 2019 United Kingdom general election was held on Thursday, December 12, 2019, with 47,567,752 registered voters entitled to vote. The Conservatives won 365 seats, 48 more than in 2017, and 43.6% of the vote, up from 42.3% in 2017.
The Conservatives made gains in Labour heartlands, particularly in areas of Wales and northern England that voted Leave in the 2016 Brexit referendum.
