Coyotes Receive Six First-Place Votes in Summit League Coaches Poll
Vermillion, S.D. – The South Dakota Coyotes were picked to finish fifth in the Summit League preseason coaches poll, the league announced on Tuesday.
The Coyotes received six first-place votes and 58 total points in the poll. North Dakota State was picked to win the league with 70 points and nine first-place votes, followed by South Dakota State with 66 points and one first-place vote. Denver and Omaha were picked to finish third and fourth, respectively.
South Dakota is coming off a 20-11 season in which they finished fourth in the Summit League with a 12-6 record. The Coyotes return three starters from that team, including senior guard Chloe Lamb.
Lamb was a first-team All-Summit League selection last season after averaging 16.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. She is one of the top players in the league and will be counted on to lead the Coyotes this season.
